“Latest Revisions in Variable Dearness Allowance by Kerala Labour and Skills Department”

Government of Kerala after considering the objections and suggestions received on the draft proposals published as notification No.LBRD-E1/112/2022-LBRD. dated 3rd April, 2023 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1315 dated 11th April, 2023 as required under clause (b) of the said Act and in consultation with the Minimum Wages Advisory Board constituted under the said Act, hereby revise the minimum rates of wages payable to the classes of employees employed in the Coir Industry sector in the State of Kerala, as specified in the schedule annexed hereto and fix the date of publication of this notification in the Gazette as the date from which the revised rates shall come into force. This Notification was published on 11.11.2023.

The State Government previously adjusted the minimum wage rates for employees working in the Coir Industry sector in Kerala through a notification released under G.O.(Ms.)No.101/2012/LBR. dated 3rd July, 2012, and officially published as S.R.O. No.498/2012 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1449 dated 9th July, 2012. Now, after reviewing objections and suggestions on the draft proposal outlined in notification No.LBRD-E1/112/2022-LBRD. dated 3rd April, 2023, published in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No.1315 dated 11th April, 2023, the Government has decided to revise the current minimum wage rates in the same industry sector. This decision has been made in consultation with the advice of the Minimum Wages Advisory Board established for this purpose.
