“Key Dates and Constituencies: Your Guide to Voting in Madhya Pradesh”

The Election Commission has unveiled the Election Program 2024 for the upcoming Lok Sabha general elections across all parliamentary constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. The voting dates are set as 19.04.2024 (Friday), 26.04.2024 (Friday), 07.05.2024 (Tuesday), and 13.05.2024 (Monday) as follows:

  1. April 19, 2024: Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, and Chhindwara.
  2. April 20, 2024: Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Hoshangabad, and Betul.
  3. May 7, 2024: Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal, Rajgad.
  4. May 13, 2024: Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar, Indore, Khargone, and Khandwa.

It has been communicated by the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer, Madhya Pradesh, that under the Representation of the People Act 1951, all individuals employed in various sectors are entitled to paid leave on voting days during elections. However, exceptions apply to those whose absence could pose significant risks or losses to their employment. The instructions extend to daily wage and casual workers as well, ensuring they receive leave without wages on polling day. Employers found violating these provisions may face penalties. Therefore, employers, occupiers, and managers across parliamentary constituencies are urged to ensure compliance with these regulations to facilitate voting for all workers.
