Key Announcement for Private Security Workers in Assam

The Labour Welfare Department of Assam has issued a crucial notification regarding the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for employees and workers engaged under Private Security Agency Houses on 15th July 2024.

Key Updates:

The rates of Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for these workers have been fixed:

  • Period Covered: January 2024 to June 2024
  • Basis: The VDA rates are determined based on a 100% rise in the average All India Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Industrial Workers

Category of the employees and the new VDA respectively:

  1. ASO:  Previous VDA Cumulated : Rs.5694.56

            New VDA : Rs.665.72

             Present wages per month : Rs.25060.28

  • Supervisor: Previous VDA Cumulated : Rs.4750.20

            New VDA : Rs.555.36

            Present wages per month:  Rs.20905.56

  • Gunmen (Armed): Previous VDA Cumulated : Rs.4171.94

            New VDA : Rs.487.72

            Present wages per month : Rs.18359.66

  • Security Guard (Unarmed): Previous VDA Cumulated : Rs.3258.38

            New VDA :Rs. 380.92

            Present wages per month: Rs. 14339.30
