Karnataka Releases 2024 Annual CPI for Industrial Workers

On February 20, 2025, the Government of Karnataka, through the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, announced the release of the Annual Average Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Industrial Workers for the year 2024. The release of this important economic data comes as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to monitor and adjust wage-related policies in line with changing living costs.

State Annual Average CPI:

    The Karnataka State Annual Average CPI for Industrial Workers, for the year 2024, has been calculated as follows:

    Base year (1987-88 = 100): 1172

    Converted to 1960 Base year (Linking factor 8.5): 9965

    Methodology:


    The CPI for Industrial Workers is based on the state’s monthly weighted average index across 16 different centers. These centers include both central and state series centers in Karnataka.
