Karnataka Government issues clarification regarding triaging of COVID-19 cases in Government and Private Health Facilities

The Government of Karnataka through circular dated 26.4.2021 has made it mandatory that the COVID-19 cases admitted in Government and Private Health Facilities shall be triaged before admission. Once the bed is blocked for admitting a COVID positive patient in a hospital through CHBMS system of BBMP, if the bed is not occupied after triaging, the hospital administration shall inform Arogya Mitra/BBMP-CHBMS nodal officer, who in turn will inform the BBMP COVID war room to unblock the bed immediately for utilization by another patient.

The Health Facilities not complying with the above instructions will be liable for strict action under the provisions of Karnataka Private Medical Establishment (KPME) Act.
