The Commissionerate of Health & Family Welfare Services through circular dated 16.4.2021 has Identified five tertiary care facilities & five Laboratories as Sentinel sites for Whole Genome Sequencing. These institutions are allowed to carry out Genome sequencing of the samples. The set of guidelines formulated by MoH & FW shall be strictly complied by the institutions and references shall be send using Sample referral forms as per the guidelines.
Identified Tertiary Care Hospitals include Victoria Hospital, Bengaluru, Bowring & Lady Curzon Hospital, Bengaluru, Wenlock Hospital, Bengaluru, Belagavi Institute of Health & Sciences, Belagavi and Bidar Institute of health Sciences, Bidar. Identified Laboratories include NIMHANS, Bengaluru, Mysore Medical College, Mysore, Hassan Institute of Health Sciences, Hassan, Bengaluru Medical college and research institute, Bengaluru and Gulbarga Institute of Health Sciences, Kalaburagi.
