Karnataka General Services (Pre-University Education) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2023

The Karnataka government issued notification regarding the Karnataka General Services (Pre-University Education) (Recruitment) (Amendment) Rules, 2023 after considering the objections and suggestion received to the notification dated January 4, 2024. This Notification was issued on June 6, 2024.

The words and brackets “(Pre-University Education)” in the title of Karnataka General Services (Pre University Education) (Recruitment) Rules, 2013, are substituted with “(Department of School Education (Pre-University)).”

For the post of Joint Director (Academic, Examination and Infrastructure) a candidate must be appointed by promotion from the position of Deputy Director and have at least three years of service as Deputy Director.

And for the post of Joint Director(Administration and Recognition and Grant-in-Aid) a candidate must be appointed by promotion from the position of Deputy Director/ by posting of an officer in the cadre of K.A.S (not below the senior scale) and have at least three years of service as Deputy Director.

For the post of Principal, Government Pre-University Colleges, 25% of appointments will be through direct recruitment from the cadre of Lecturers in the Department of School Education (Government Pre University Colleges), based on marks obtained in a competitive examination conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission and must have at least ten years of service as a Lecturer and must have satisfactorily completed the probation period.

And 75% of the appointments will be through promotion from the cadre of Lecturers who have served for at least ten years and have satisfactorily completed their probation period.
