The Government of Karnataka issued a notification on 31st January, 2024, regarding the amendment of the Karnataka Excise (Excise Duties and Fees) Rules, 1968.
The notification details the amendment related to Beer (bottled). It provides the declared price range per case containing 7.8/7.92/12 Bulk litres of Beer and the corresponding rate of Additional Excise Duty/Additional Countervailing Duty per Bulk litre.
The amendment also specifies the scenarios under which the duty rates apply, including the issuance to licensees within Karnataka, export to licensees outside Karnataka but within India, and import into Karnataka from other states in India.
The notification shall be enforceable from February 1, 2024.
