Jute Commissioner Sets Maximum Ex-Factory Prices for Jute Bags in December 2024

Jute Commissioner has announced the final maximum ex-factory prices for 580gm “Type-A” and “Type-B” jute bags for December 2024. This price fixation falls under the authority granted by Clause 3(6) of the Jute and Jute Textiles Control Order, 2016.

The fixed prices are as follows:

B-Twill Sacking (580 gms) (With 10% Linkage)

  • Type A: Rs. 105,671 per metric ton (MT) or Rs. 6,128.92 per 100 bags.
  • Type B: Rs. 105,671 per MT or Rs. 6,128.92 per 100 bags.

B-Twill Sacking (580 gms) (Without Linkage)

  • Type A: Rs. 105,114 per MT or Rs. 6,096.62 per 100 bags.
  • Type B: Rs. 105,114 per MT or Rs. 6,096.62 per 100 bags.

Bag Specifications and Requirements

The price regulation applies to Type A and Type B bags with the following specifications:

  • Size: 94cm x 57cm/HD
  • Mass: 580 grams per bag
  • Ends per dim and pecks per dm: As specified in BIS Specification IS: 16186:2014.
  • Additional markings: As per existing orders and instructions.

All bags must include the following:

  • Emblem: As specified in the PCSO issued by the Office of the Jute Commissioner, Kolkata.
  • Mill Name: Printed on the bag.
  • BIS Certification Marking.
  • Minimum Breaking Strength: As provided in BIS Specification IS: 16186:2014.

The prices fixed in this notification are exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST). The purchaser is responsible for paying GST in addition to the stated ex-factory price. This price regulation aims to provide price stability and transparency in the jute bag market for December 2024.
