Jute Commissioner Sets Maximum Ex-Factory Price for 580gm Jute Bags for March 2025

Jute Commissioner has announced the final fixed maximum ex-factory price for 580gm “Type-A” and “Type-B” Jute Bags for the month of March 2025, in accordance with the Jute and Jute Textiles Control Order, 2016. This notification was issued on March 11, 2025.

This decision aims to regulate the pricing of essential jute packaging materials and ensure fair trade practices within the industry.

Specifications and Requirements

The bags must be of size 94cm x 57cm/HD, with a mass of 580 grams per bag.

The bags must adhere to the specifications outlined in BIS Specification IS: 16186:2014.

Additional identification markings as per existing orders/instructions are required.

Each bag must be printed/marked with the emblem specified in the PCSO issued by the Office of the Jute Commissioner, Kolkata, along with the manufacturing mill’s name and BIS certification marking.

The average minimum breaking strength must be as provided in the BIS specification.

The fixed price is exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST), which will be added to the ex-factory price and paid by the purchaser.

These fixed prices will be applicable for all purchases and sales of the specified jute bags during the month of March 2025. This measure is crucial for maintaining transparency and fairness in the jute industry.
