The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India on 2nd September 2022, has extended the applicability of the guidelines on Information and Cyber Security for Insurers to all insurance intermediaries.
Earlier the guidelines were applicable only to insurers regulated by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) which is now being extended to all insurance intermediaries.
The objective of the guidelines is to ensure that a Board approved Information and Cyber Security policy is in place with all insurers and to ensure that the insurers are adequately prepared to mitigate Information and cyber security-related risks.
