In relation to the aforementioned letter (copy enclosed), the zonal additional commissioners of labor and the regional joint commissioners of labor are instructed to convene meetings with employers’ associations and employers of industrial and commercial establishments, shops, public and private sector undertakings, including IT/BPO, etc., within their respective jurisdictions. The objective of these meetings is to ensure that all employees, casual workers, and daily wage earners are provided with a paid holiday on the polling day, scheduled for April 19, 2024 (Friday), thereby enabling them to exercise their voting rights. Additionally, it is recommended to issue press releases on this matter at least twice a week, commencing one week prior to the polling day and continuing until two days before the specified date. Moreover, strict adherence to the directive of granting paid holidays to all employees, casual workers, and daily wage earners by the employers on the polling day is requested. Following this, a detailed action taken report, along with copies of the press releases, must be submitted to this office.
