Import of food products for Inborn Error Metabolism conditions

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India through circular dated 30 June, 2021, in view of extension of commencement of Food Safety and Standards (Food for Infant Nutrition) Regulations, 2020 till April 1, 2022, import of food products for Inborn Error Metabolism conditions as mentioned in annexure is allowed till 31st March, 2022, subject to following conditions:

1. Submission of documents evidencing composition, label and claims.
2. Labels shall mention medical conditions for which they are to be mentioned.
3. Importers shall ensure they are consumed under supervision of health professionals
