The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has appointed August 9, 2024, as the commencement date for specific provisions of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act, 2023, pertaining to the Tea Act, 1953, Spices Board Act, 1986, and Rubber Act, 1947.
This notification marks a step forward in creating a more conducive business environment in India.
The Jan Vishwas Act represents a substantial overhaul of the country’s regulatory framework. Enacted with the aim of decriminalizing and rationalizing numerous provisions across various laws, the Act seeks to enhance trust-based governance and foster ease of living and doing business. By amending the Tea Act, Spices Board Act, and Rubber Act, the government intends to streamline processes, reduce bureaucratic hurdles, and promote growth within these sectors.
