The Government of Tripura issued a notification on 10th April, 2024, stating that certain establishments and offices within the Tripura West Parliamentary Constituency and the East Tripura (ST) Parliamentary Constituency will remain closed on specific dates in April 2024.
This closure is to allow individuals to exercise their right to vote during the General Election to the Lok Sabha 2024 and Assembly Bye-Election 2024. The notification declares 19th April, 2024 and 26th April, 2024 as paid holidays for employees of government offices, magisterial courts, financial institutions, industrial undertakings, and other establishments falling within the specified constituencies.
It also allows special casual leave for individuals who are residents and registered electors of the constituencies but are serving or employed outside these areas. The notification emphasizes that the closure and paid holidays do not apply to individuals whose absence may cause danger or substantial loss in their employment.
