The District Industry Center honored entrepreneurs who achieved the State Government’s MSME Award for Best Enterprises at a ceremony inaugurated by the District Panchayat President at Priyadarshini Hall of Zilla Panchayat. Ernakulam was recognized as the best industrial center, emphasizing collaborative efforts in formulating and executing innovative projects. The Department of Industries guides entrepreneurs on business initiation, incentives, and operational strategies. District Collector NSK Umesh commended Ernakulam’s receipt of 13 MSME awards, reflecting Kerala’s industrial progress and employment opportunities for 5 lakh individuals. Organizational initiatives and training programs in the district contribute to entrepreneurial excellence. Awardees like Pamela Anna Mathew, Marine Hydrocolloids, and others were celebrated, along with PA Najeeb, General Manager of District Industry Center, for his leadership. Awarded entrepreneurs shared insights into overcoming challenges. In 2022-23, 14,128 enterprises in the district provided employment to 33,765 people, attracting investments worth 1172.48 crores.
