In light of the imperative public interest, the Central Government has deemed it necessary to classify the services within the uranium industry, as outlined in item 19 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), as a public utility service under the aforementioned Act. Consequently, in accordance with the authority vested in it by sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947), the Central Government hereby issues the following directive: The services associated with the uranium industry are hereby designated as a public utility service for a duration of six months from the date of publication of this notification.
