The guest highlighted the objective of ensuring accessible healthcare within Goa and forging collaborations with institutions to conduct surgeries locally, thereby minimizing the necessity for residents to travel for medical treatment. The Director of the Directorate of Health Service (DHS) emphasized the importance of compassion and respect in patient care, mentioning opportunities for nursing graduates under initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat Mission to extend healthcare beyond hospitals. A Professor from Manipal College of Nursing stressed the pride parents and teachers take in students’ achievements and advocated for inter-professional collaboration in healthcare. She encouraged graduates to embrace technological advancements like AI while preserving the human touch in patient care. Additionally, she urged them to seek international experiences and return to contribute to their nation’s healthcare system. Prioritizing personal health was also emphasized for effective service provision. Overall, the event highlighted the Government’s efforts to improve healthcare accessibility and the importance of continuous learning and compassion in nursing practice.
