The State Government of Tripura vide its notification dated 3rd February 2021 has stated that section 17 of the Boilers Act, 1923 shall not be applicable in the state of Tripura.
As per section 17, the boiler Inspectors Visit/ Inspect boiler installations shall be accessed only with the prior approval of the Head of Department, however there was no inspection of boilers in the factories and boilers organisation, government of Tripura since its inception. The chief inspector of factories and boilers is the only technical person for boilers in the department having mandatory boilers training.
Therefore the government has decided to omit section 17 of the Boilers Act in the state of Tripura.
