The Government of Rajasthan’s Finance (Excise) Department issued a notification dated March 13, 2024. It pertains to the exemption of certain bar licensees (Hotel Bar/Club Bar/Restaurant Bar) from paying the fee for renewal of their license for the succeeding year, provided they have paid excise/additional excise duty more than three times the annual license fee in the current financial year.
The exemption is equal to the percentage of excise duty and additional excise duty that exceeds three times the license fees, with a maximum cap of 50 percent of the fees for renewal of the license.
This exemption is effective from April 1, 2024.
