Government of Karnataka reserves 75% of Beds in Private Medical College Hospitals having facilities to Treat COVID-19 Patients.

The State Government of Karnataka on 24th April 2021 has decided to take up 75 % of beds in private medical colleges and hospitals to treat COVID-19 patients. The 75% of beds include High Dependency Units (HDU), Intensive Care Units (ICU) with and beds without ventilators.

This is apart from private hospitals, who have been directed to reserve 50 per cent of their beds, under each category, for government-referred Covid-19 patients. 

Non-adherence/non-compliance to the above order by any private Healthcare Providers will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of Section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under relevant section of IPC, and other legal provisions as applicable.
