The State Government of Karnataka vide its notification dated 20th May 2021 has issued SOP for prevention of COVID associated Mucormycosis and the health care facility shall follow it while treating the patients.
The Health Care Facility shall use steroids judiciously observing correctness in the timing, dose, and duration and shall always use distilled water or sterile water for the humidifier.
The water level should be checked twice daily and topped up as necessary and the humidifier shall be cleaned before use for every patient and at least once a week for the same patient.
Further the health care facilities shall keep the walls, floor, linen, beds and cots dry.
