Government of Goa permits the use of loudspeakers or public address system on certain days.

The Department of Environment and climate change, Goa on  10th February 2022 has permitted the use of  loudspeakers or public address system during night hours from 10.00 p.m. to 06.00 a.m. on certain days during the year 2022, throughout the State of Goa .

The relaxation will be application for the Carnival (Last day of Carnival) on 27th February, Holi on march 18, Easter eve and Easter day on April 17 and 18, Ganesh Chaturthi (2nd day of idol immersion) on 1st September 2022, Ganesh Chaturthi (5th day of idol immersion) on 9th September etc.

The permission shall be granted only on a case-to-case basis, in response to a specific application made by the concerned Village Panchayat, Municipal Corporation/Municipal Council or an individual and the provisions of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 shall be strictly complied with.

Further the ‘authority’ concerned shall monitor the noise levels during the permitted festive occasion and take prompt remedial action in the event of any violation of the same and of above conditions.
