The State Government of Andhra Pradesh on 24th June 2021 has amended the Andhra Pradesh Co-operative Societies Rules 1964 in which it states Every Society including a society under winding up shall get its accounts audited atleast once in a year by the Chief Auditor or the person authorised by him.
The committee of every society shall prepare in addition to other documents, a proof of payment of professional tax as required by AP tax on profession, trade, callings and employments Act 1987.
Further, the chief auditor shall verify or cause to be verified the statements and returns so furnished and issued or cause to be issued an audit certificate, after verification proof of payment if professional tax as required under the Andhra Pradesh Tax on Professional, Trade, Calling and Employments Act 1987 by the society, if liable within 3 months.
