The Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) has issued a revised circular on basis of the guidelines for environmentally sound dismantling of E-waste on implementation of E-waste (Management) Rules, 2022 formulated by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The revised circular was issued on June 4, 2024.
GSPCB has granted authorization to the following units for e-waste dismantling:
- M/s. Global E-Waste Management System,
- M/s. Group TenPlus,
- M/s. V RECYCLING INDUSTRIES LLP, Sao Jose de Areal and
- M/s. V RECYCLING INDUSTRIES LLP, Fatorda and
- Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) i.e. M/s. Karo Sambhav Private Limited.
It is stated that the bulk consumers must dispose of E-waste through a collection center, an authorized dealer, a dismantler, or a recycler. All bulk consumers are required to dispose of their E-waste through these authorized channels regularly.
Authorized dismantlers and PROs must keep records of collected, dismantled, and recycled E-waste and make these records available for review by the Central Pollution Control Board and the concerned State Pollution Control Board.
