Goa Registration of Tourist Trade (Amendment) Rules, 2020

The Goa Department of Tourism vide notification dated August 27, 2020, has published the draft Goa Registration of Tourist Trade (Amendment) Rules, 2020 applicable to Goa, Daman and Diu. The objections or suggestions to the said draft rules may be forwarded to the Director, Directorate of Tourism, 1st Floor, Paryatan Bhavan, Patto, Panaji, Goa, before the expiry of said period of thirty days from the date of publication of this Notification in the Official Gazette (August 27, 2020). It will come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 

The Following are the major amendments to the Goa, Daman and Diu Registration of Tourist Trade Rules, 1985:

  • The application for registration by a person intending to carry out the business should be submitted to the prescribed authority in Form I, Form II or Form III and facilitated through e-registration at the Registration Facilitation Centres (RFC).
  • Form I to Form XIV have been substituted and new forms XIV to Form XXI are added.
  • Validation of certificate of dealer and travel agent is for a period of one year i.e. for one financial year beginning from the year of issue. The certificate can be renewed for a further period of one year on the payment of the renewal fees. Further, registration/renewal fees to be paid within 3 months from the end of the financial year.
  • New criteria is introduced for classification of Travel Agent.
  • In case of hotel the validation of the certificate of registration could be maximum for a period of five years and registration/renewal fees to be paid within 3 months from the end of the financial year.
