The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide its notification dated 24th August 2020 has waived off the penalty for non-submission of annual/half yearly return by food businesses in previous year.
FSSAI in its earlier notification has extended the due date for submission of Annual Return for 2019-2020 and half-yearly returns for October 2019 to March 2020 and April 2020 to September 2020 by FSSAI licensed food businesses involved in manufacturing, processing and importing of food products till 31st December.
However, through this notification it has been decided by the FSSAI not to count the period of 22nd March to 31st December 20202 for the accumulation of penalties due to non-submission of returns for the previous financial year.
