FSSAI Revises NABL Accredited Laboratories for Analysis of Food Samples

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has modified its list of laboratories accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). This notification was issued on September 6, 2024.

These laboratories are notified for the purposes of carrying out analysis of food samples taken in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

FSSAI has modified the list of laboratories in the Northern, Western, Southern and Eastern Region of the country. The following are the changes effected by the present notification:

In the Northern Region

For the state of Punjab, Punjab Biotechnology Incubator, Mohali has been introduced. It has been granted accreditation for biological and chemical testing.

In the Western Region

For the state of Gujarat, Accurate Universal Laboratories Private Limited, Ahmedabad has been granted accreditation for biological and chemical testing.

In the Southern Region

For Tamil Nadu, two new laboratories have been introduced:

  • Global Lab and Consultancy Services LLP, Salem and
  • The South India Textile Research Association, Coimbatore

Both of these Laboratories have accreditation that covers biological and chemical testing.

Additionally, in the state of Telangana, Analytical Testing Laboratory, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Hyderabad has been notified for chemical testing.

In the Eastern Region

For Assam, National Test House (NER), Guwahati has been notified for biological and chemical testing.

RECENT UPDATES
