The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India on 8th June 2021 has prohibited blending of Mustard oil with any kind of edible oil from 8th June and in order to ensure that the prohibition is effectively enforced, FSSAI has directed the Commissioners of Food Safety of States/UTs and Central Licensing Authority to carry out an inspection drive.
The commissioner of Food safety of states/UTs and central licensing authority shall ensure physical inspection of such units by visiting their premises to check whether any prohibited blending of Mustard oil is being carried out after 8th June.
Further the old licensee having Mustard BEVO as a product under their jurisdiction are advised to get their license suitably amended in the view of said prohibition.
