The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has modified its list of laboratories accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). This notification was issued on June 14, 2024.
These laboratories are notified for the purposes of carrying out analysis of food samples taken in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
FSSAI has modified the list of laboratories in the Western and Southern Region of the country. The following are the changes effected by the present notification:
In the Western Region
For the state of Gujarat the Centre of Excellence for Research and Analysis of Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances, Gandhinagar has been introduced. It shall have accreditation that covers chemical testing.
Additionally, for the state of Maharashtra, the Eureka Analytical Services Private Limited, Thane has been notified, having biological and chemical accreditation.
In the Sothern Region
For the state of Tamil Nadu, Hubert Enviro Care Systems Private Limited, Guindy, Chennai has been notified. Its scope of accreditation extends to biological and chemical testing.
