The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide its notification dated 13th July 2021 has directed the authorised officers to facilitate and carry out food import clearance process on priority without delay for consignment of imported pulses and crude oil and if required, scrutiny/visual inspection/sampling may be carried out even on weekends.
The imports of pulses and edible oils are being facilitated to ensure timely processing and clearance and the importers of pulses shall carry out advance filing of bill of entries in food import clearance system of FSSAI.
