The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India on 14th September 2022, has notified the graphic specification of vegan logo to be affixed in every package of vegan food after the approval.
FSSAI in its earlier notification issued guidelines for submission of application for endorsement of vegan logo and formats for the approval from the authority. Upon the approval of the application as per form B, the food business operators are eligible to use the vegan logo.
Therefore every package of vegan food, after the approval shall carry the logo as specified in this notification.
As per sub-regulation 5 of FSS (Vegan Foods) Regulations, 2022, the Food Business Operator shall submit an application to the concerned licensing authority with all necessary details in a format as may be specified by the Authority. No vegan food products shall he imported except with a certificate issued by the recognized authorities of the exporting countries in the format as specified by the Authority is accepted.
