The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India on 27th July, 2020, gave notice to the public inviting comments on draft regulations amending the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011.
Objections and comments shall be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi- 110002 or sent on email at regulation@fssai.gov.in. The objections and suggestions may be offered within a period of thirty days.
The amendment includes Shea butter and Borneo tallow/ Illipe butter ithe list of edible fats and provides parameters for using them.
