The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India on 29th April 2022, has directed the Manufacturer-Exporters to submit their annual return by 31st May 2022 for theFY 2021-22 and the returns submitted only through FoSCos portal will be considered.
As per the clause 2.1.13(1) of Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulation, 2011, all licensed Manufacturers and Importers are required to submit their Annual Return in Form D1 by 31st May of every year for the activities conducted during preceding Financial Year.
However in order to provide ease of doing business, it has been decided that Manufacturer-Exporters will be required to submit Annual Returns for the food business activities conducted wef FY 2021-22 replacing the existing practice of submission of quarterly returns.
