The FSSAI vide its notification dated 18th June 2020, granted certain relaxations to the Food Business Operators considering their difficulties in compliance of provisions relating to 6 monthly testing reports of food products mentioned in Schedule 2 of Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) regulation, 2011 due to the nationwide lockdown on account of COVID-19 Pandemic.
The FSSAI decided that the Food Business Operators shall not be penalized if they have not maintained such records during the lockdown period. However, all the FBO’s have to ensure the said compliance within 2 months after lockdown is over.
