The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide its notification dated 3rd December 2020 has extended its earlier order dated 21st October 2020 mandating the food import consignments to carry Non-GM cum GM free certificate by another two months and the same shall be effective from 1st March 2020.
FSSAI in its earlier order has prescribed the format in which the certificate is to be issued and prescribes the details such as names and addresses of exporters, manufacturers and consignees, quantity, description and expiry date of products, if any, country of export, etc and this certificate is to be issued by the Competent National Authority of the exporting country.
