FSSAI extends the compliance timeline on commercial feeds/feed material intended for meat and milk producing animals with relevant BIS Standards

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide its notification dated 1^st January 2020 has extended the compliance timeline by commercial feeds/feed materials manufacturers to adhere with the standards prescribed by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) up to 1^st July 2021.

Earlier the direction to carry BIS certification mark on the product came into force after 6 months from 27^th January 2020 which was further extended up to 1^st January 2021.

However, the new compliance duration has been extended following requests from industry stakeholders as they deal with the current COVID-19 situation and subsequent lockdown orders issued by the Government of India.
