The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India through circular dated 29.06.2021 has clarified that the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restriction on Sales) Amendment Regulations, 2021, Food Safety and Standards (Food Product Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2021 and Food Safety and Standards(labeling and display) Amendment Regulations, 2021 shall commence with effect from 17.11.2021.
FBOs may continue to use the nomenclature either the old stock/inventory of tables containing the name ‘Blended Edible Vegetable Oil’ or ‘Multi Source Edible Oil’ till 17.11.2021.
