The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide office memorandum dated 21 July, 2022 has clarified that the Food Safety Training certificate will be perpetual in nature. However, if the food handler changes the kind of business(KoB), he will have to undergo the Food Safety Training and Certification afresh and obtain a new certificate for the respective Kind of Business. Prior to this notification the training certificate was valid for 2 years.
The certificate holders shall also undergo refresher training when there is changes in the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011. The Food safety training programme intends to create a pool of food safety supervisors.
