FSSAI Appoints Two New Central Food Safety Officers for Eastern Region

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has announced the appointment of two new Central Food Safety Officers (CFSOs) for the Eastern Region. This announcement comes via a notification issued on January 2, 2025, amending the principal notification published on September 2, 2021.

The notification officially designates the following individuals as CFSOs:

1. Shri. Sachin Mittal: Posted to the Eastern Region, with jurisdiction over all States/UTs within that region.
2. Shri. Sharanabasava: Also posted to the Eastern Region, with jurisdiction over all States/UTs within that region.

Strengthening Food Safety Enforcement

These appointments aim to bolster the FSSAI’s enforcement and oversight capabilities in the Eastern Region, ensuring better implementation of food safety standards and regulations.
