Food Safety Commissioners are directed to comply with the Guidelines for investigating and managing food borne illness outbreaks in India

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide circular dated 27 October, 2021 has directed all Food Safety Commissioners of States/UTs to ensure the implementation/compliance of the Guidelines for investigating and managing food borne illness outbreaks in India.

Food Safety Commissioners are required to present the incidences and status of food borne illness outbreaks in their states/UTs in the last quarter and action taken thereon in the meeting of the Central Advisory Committee under a standing agenda namely “the status of responses to Food borne illness outbreak”.
