Food Safety and Standards (prohibition and Restriction on Sales) Amendment Regulations 2011 allows the presence of less than 2% Kheshari Gram/ Dal in pulses

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide Notification date 04 June, 2020 has amended the Food Safety and Standards (prohibition and Restriction on Sales) Regulations 2011 to allow the presence of less than 2% Kheshari Gram/ Dal in pulses as the incidental presence of same is inevitable.

The Regulation 2.2 restricts use of ingredients like Kheshari Gram/ Dal. The amendment is issued to add a proviso to the regulation to provide exception to incidental presence of Kheshari Gram/ Dal in pulses.
