Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) has issued a Circular on 1st July, 2019 extending the filing a intimation in Form GST CMP-02. Last date for filing has been extended from 30th April, 2019 to 31st July, 2019. This circular has been released to give effect to the decision taken in 35th GST Council meeting held on 21st June, 2019.
The Form is required to be filed by a registered persons having an aggregate turnover upto fifty lakh rupees who wishes to avail tax at rate of 3% on First supplies of goods or services or both made on or after the 1st day of April in any financial year. In Circular No. 97/16/2019-GST dated 5th April, 2019, CBIC clarified that registered persons who wish to opt for paying CGST @ 3% must file intimation in Form GST CMP-02 latest by 30th April, 2019.
