Export policy of wheat revised from free to prohibited

The Director General of Foreign Trade vide notification dated 13 May, 2022 has revised the export policy of all types of wheat from free to prohibited to manage the overall food security of India. Export will be allowed when made to meet food security needs of other countries based on their request and permission from Indian government. Export will be allowed in cases where irrevocable Letter of Credit has been issued on before date of this notification.

The Director General of Foreign Trade has also revised the export policy of onions from free to prohibited.
