The Government in Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department have issued orders on 16.11.2023, permitting the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Milk Producers Federation Limited to entrust the project, namely Establishment of 2 LLPD Hi-tech Dairy at Namakkal at an estimated cost of Rs.89.29 crore, on turnkey basis to National Dairy Development Board.
A hi-tech dairy plant with a production capacity of two-lakh liters per day will soon be set up in the district. The main objective of the scheme is to ensure livelihood and economic upliftment of milk producers in Namakkal district. This project is very much essential to meet the future demand of consumers and milk processing industry.
