ESIC extends the scope of Employees State Insurance Act to more areas of Assam

The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide notification dated 23 december 2021, has made certain provisions of Employees State Insurance Act, 1948 applicable more areas of Assam. Following provisions of Employees State Insurance Act, 1948 has come into force in the districts of Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Bishwanath, Cachar, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, Goalpara, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Nalbari, Marigaon, Nagaon, Sibsagar, Udalguri, West Karbi Anglong, Karbi Anglong, Karimganj, South Salmara Mankachar in Assam:

1. Sections 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 and sections 45A to 45H Chapter IV: The chapter deals with the contribution made to the employee.
2. Sections 46 to 73 of Chapter V: The chapter deals with Benefits provides to the employees covered under the Act.
3. Sections 46 to 73 of Chapter VI: which deals with Adjudication of Dispute and Claims.
