The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has issued a clarification on the Grant of Hospital Patient Care Allowance (HPCA) / Patient Care Allowance (PCA) to Paramedical Staff. This clarification was issued on 16th January, 2023.
The notification states that paramedical staff are to be deployed on duties related to medical services only in accordance to their Job Cards. The notification additionally reiterates that grant of HPCA/ PCA must be strictly regulated in accordance with instructions issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare dated 4th February, 2004.
Therefore, HPCA/ PCA will not be admissible to paramedical employees who are deployed on administrative duties.
