The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has announced the organization of the 37th Analytical Quality Control (AQC) Exercise in January 2025. This program is designed to assess the accuracy and reliability of environmental data generated by laboratories across India. This notice was issued on January 7, 2025.
Participation and Parameters:
The AQC exercise is open to environmental laboratories recognized under the Environment Protection Act (E.P. Act) 1986, as well as environmental labs operated by CPCB, State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs), Pollution Control Committees (PCCs), and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
Participating laboratories can test their analytical capabilities for various parameters in water and soil samples.
Focus Areas of the 37th AQC
- Metal Parameters in Water: (Lower and Higher Range) Arsenic (As), Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe), Manganese (Mn), Nickel (Ni), Lead (Pb), and Zinc (Zn).
- Metal Parameters in Soil: Total Arsenic (As).
- Physicochemical Parameters in Water: Total Dissolved Solids, Total Hardness, Chloride, Nitrate-N, Fluoride, Phosphate-P, Sodium, Conductivity, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Ammonia-N.
Application Process
Interested laboratories must submit their consent to participate in the AQC exercise. The application should include details of the deposited participation fee (online transaction details with evidence) and a valid WhatsApp number.
The deadline for application is January 25, 2025.
