The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), renowned for its vast clientele and extensive financial transactions, has launched a new online functionality aimed at updating and correcting member profiles. With over 7.5 crore active contributors monthly, EPFO has settled approximately 87 lakh claims within the first two months of this financial year alone, covering various social security benefits. This notification was published on June 1, 2024.
This innovative software application ensures seamless online services by validating member data through the Universal Account Number (UAN). Upholding data integrity, EPFO has implemented a digital Standard Operating Process (SOP) since August 22, 2023, facilitating online requests for member data amendments.
Members can now conveniently request changes in their profile details, such as name, gender, date of birth, and more, online and submit relevant documents for verification. Already, around 40,000 requests have been approved by EPFO field offices, with over 2.75 lakh requests received thus far.
This streamlined process, complemented by robust KYC protocols, enables EPFO to offer instant services like advance settlements and PF account transfers, eliminating the need for physical visits to offices. With this new feature, EPFO continues its commitment to enhancing efficiency and member satisfaction.
