Engagement of Faculty as Assessors for Conducting Inspection of Medical Colleges

The Medical Assessment and Rating Board of the National Medical Commission (MARB-NMC) has announced its plans to initiate the inspection process for the academic year 2024-2025. The inspection will involve various applications, and faculties from diverse medical colleges will play a crucial role as Assessors in conducting these assessments. A public notice inviting the cooperation faculties was issued on November 23, 2023.

MARB-NMC emphasizes that the inspection of medical colleges is pivotal for ensuring and enhancing the quality of medical education across India. Notably, the NMC intends to conduct surprise inspections at various medical colleges to maintain the integrity of the evaluation process.

Faculty members from medical colleges will be actively engaged in inspecting other medical colleges. To preserve the element of surprise, Assessors will receive information about their travel details 48 hours prior to the inspection date. In some cases, Assessors might be required to travel within 24 hours of receiving the notification.

In light of this, MARB-NMC has requested the cooperation of all medical colleges in facilitating the participation of their faculty members in this crucial inspection process. The NMC acknowledges the importance of granting leave to faculty members who are engaged in these activities, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free inspection process.

The NMC has expressed sincere appreciation for the ongoing cooperation and contributions extended by the medical fraternity. It also recognizes the collective effort of the medical community in working towards the continuous improvement of the medical education system in India. The commitment of faculties in actively participating in the inspection process is instrumental in upholding the standards of medical education and fostering a culture of excellence in the healthcare sector.
